Appointments
What happen at my first face-to-face appointment?
Please always check in at the reception desk to let them know you have arrived. Your first appointment will be for an initial assessment. Your physiotherapist will take time to talk through your injury, any problems, and your medical history and general health with you followed by a physical assessment. This may take more than one session. They can provide advice and management based on the results of your assessment. Follow up appointments can be booked at the session.
What if I am late for my appointment?
Please contact the department to let them know you are running late by calling 0208 934 2510. If you are more than 10 mins late for your appointment, you will not be seen and your appointment will need to be rescheduled.
What if I can no longer attend my appointment?
Please let us know as soon as you can, or at least 24 hours before your appointment, if you are unable to attend your appointment, as this time can be used for another patient. Patients who do not attend their first appointment or a follow-up appointment without giving any prior notice will be discharged back to their referring source and will need a new referral to be rebooked.
What should I expect from my treatment?
Following a comprehensive assessment, physiotherapy treatment often includes education, advice and exercises to help manage your pain or condition. Other treatments may be offered, depending on your symptoms and conditions.
You may feel sore after your treatment so be mindful of your mode of transport and you may wish to use ice/heat when you get home, your physiotherapist can advise on this.
What if I have a specific requirement or need to request a reasonable adjustment?
If you require patient transport: you will need to contact the transport booking line:
