Types of exercise on offer to older adults
Zumba
Get your heart rate up, improve flexibility and strength. Move to music for a whole body workout.
Tai Chi or Pilates or yoga
Slower movements either on a mat, sitting or standing. Suits different needs. Often uses breathing to aid purposeful and focused movements. Uses postural muscles and balance.
Strength and balance
Sitting or standing. Improves flexibility and control. Helps proper alignment, posture and balance during movement. Prevents injury and falls and keeps you mobile, fit and active.
Table tennis or walking football
Improves hand eye coordination and balance.
Walking
Encourages being in nature to support physical, psychological and social wellbeing. Accessible, on well-trodden routes.
Allotment clubs
Being outdoors, working your body while being in nature, growing and caring for a garden.
